Hi! My name is Corie Chu, Founder of MindBodySoulAsia.com, teacher / practitioner of various metaphysical practices and personal development coach. To be honest, I have no idea what will become of this platform. Two years ago, I had been guided to start this, I had big visions of where it could go and the great community it could build. I knew it would require lots of time and effort but I wasn't ready for such a commitment. I also know myself too well, as someone who can get intensely passionate about something, and bored quickly if things aren't aligned. Over the two years I kept putting Mind Body Soul Asia in the back burner, but every so often the recurring idea of it kept coming back up. I decided this year, 2017, is the year to start it. I mean, if the idea keeps coming back non-stop over two years, the guides are being pretty adamant with their message, right? Coming from a background of publicity and events, I allowed the perfectionist in me to take over, wanting everything to be planned, well-structured and displaying the very best before announcing that Mind Body Soul Asia was ready (my karma number being a "4", more on this later).  I took starting this platform way too seriously and it pushed me back another couple of months.

Then my husband said to me one night, "For someone who lives such an organic lifestyle, you're being ironically un-organic about this." And he was right. There's nothing organic about planning, structuring in detail for this platform, creating editorial calendars or figuring out the "right" logo. I let the publicist in me take over and it was mad stressful, to the point that I almost gave up on it again. And now I see why it's taken two years to get here.

Just like my journey into a healthier lifestyle, it wasn't well-planned or executed cleanly. It took tons of trial and error for me to get to where I am today and I still have plenty of room for growth.

My intention for Mind Body Soul Asia is for it to be a space where we can connect, learn, grow from each other holistically. I want it to be a place where we can highlight options for real, impactful holistic healing in Asia. A place for us to share our journeys and transformations. There are so many teachers and great resources in the West, but many head to the East for a deeper spiritual connection and there's a reason for it. Perhaps looking for the origin of their practice. We have abundant resources - teachers, healers, practitioners, yoga schools, wellness centers that haven't been well discovered. There are so many great teachers, practitioners who are based in (or frequent) Asia who have so much knowledge and experience to share, to heal. So many wonderful studios and wellness centers that not enough people know about or get lost in Google searches. I'm also specifically focused on creating this platform around Asia because the cluster of countries around Asia share similar cultural qualities such as family traditions - respecting the elders, bringing money home that have stunted personal growth or provided limiting beliefs. As someone who has spent most of her life away from Asia, it was quite a cultural shock coming back and settling into Hong Kong. I had my fair share of expectations and beliefs from others. It's taken years of understanding, light, love and a ton of grounding for me to finally call this city home again. I've been blessed to have a be deeply apart of both the Western and Eastern cultures (you can read my piece of cultural identity confusion coming soon) and I hope my knowledge and experiences can be of help or service to you.

I'd like to thank all my spiritual teachers, my family, my friends and my sisters for the great life lessons, knowledge, guidance, love and support I've received thus far, empowering me to create this space and my practice to share with you all.

I hope that I will find an audience in you and I hope that you will join me on this journey together of growing organically, discovering ourselves through wellness and healing. If you feel called to share your expertise or personal journeys, please connect with me. I would love to hear about your work and/or your stories and share them on this platform. I'm sure many others will benefit from them too.

With gratitude,

Corie Chu, Founder of Mind Body Soul Asia

Corie Chu, Founder of Mind Body Soul Asia

For over a decade, Corie worked in film publicity in Hollywood where she managed A-List celebrities, filmmakers and top studio executives. She worked long hours regularly to campaign for multiple film releases each year and even more intensely during awards seasons. Corie definitely understood the need for work/life balance and knew that her lifestyle needed a major change. While looking for healthy ways to relieve stress, she met Vida Vierra, dance minster of Afro-Brazilian samba, leader of the Swing Brazil Tribe and master spiritual teacher.  You could say Corie danced her way into energy healing as she eventually studied the foundations of energy healing with Vida - all about chakras, aura readings, body scans, color therapy, crystal healing, Art of Isyss, I-Ching, Angel Cards, Tarot Cards, Qi Gong and much more.

After leaving Los Angeles, Corie moved to Buenos Aires and continued her journey around South America. She met great teachers along the way and had many, many memorable experiences that filled her soul. A year later she decided to move to Hong Kong to be closer to her family. While feeling ungrounded in Hong Kong, she remembered Vida had always said, “Dance is medicine." which led Corie to create her first workshop series, “ Soul Movements” (previously known as Chakra Journey) – a combination of gentle dance/movement and meditation to discover, explore and balance the chakras, assisting with personal transformation. She was inspired to study with Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine to deepen her connection with the Angels and became a Certified Angel Card Reader™. At the same time, she decided to go into formal coach training by an ICF accredited teaching institute and became a certified Coach specializing in Personal Development. Later, she was drawn to pyramids and discovered the Akashic Records within. She was fascinated and immediately studied with Akashic Records Master Teacher Gale West. Within Akashic Records, there lies numeric codes and these numerology had always “spoke” to Corie early on but she never understood why. She began exploring different numerology systems but it wasn’t until 2015 when she decided to study Practical Numerology with Tyler Mongan. She is currently finishing her Teacher Training in Practical Numerology and will be teaching the system in Fall 2017. Corie felt the need for more structure in energy healing and learned Reiki from Reiki Master/Teacher Nicholas Harris in Thailand. Corie is a 9th Generation Reiki Master/Teacher of the direct Usui lineage and is certified to teach all Reiki levels. Due to her interest in Reiki and Numerology, she has found the combination of both modalities has been extremely helpful to her clients while on their journey of self-discovery and healing. Corie loves being a student of life and will always continue learning and experiencing different methods in metaphysics.

Corie is a Reiki Master/Teacher, a Numerologist, Akashic Records Consultant, a Certified Angel Card Reader™ and Certified Personal Development Coach. Please check out the "Experience" section of this website to learn more about the healing services offered, and classes/trainings by Corie.
